Now we all have seen the iPhone and its flashy screen rotation. Basically if you are viewing photos you can turn the iPhone to the side and the pictures orientation on the scren rotates. Well it looks like developers are getting close to creating something quite similar for the N800.
Rodrigo Vivi has a video up on his blog showing the screen rotation ability on an N800 running enlighenment on maemona (Now that a mouthfull). Check it out…
Quite amazing isnt it? I’m not 100% sure if we can do this with our stock N800’s running OS 2008 but I’ll drop a line to Rodrigo and see what he says!
Ever wanted OGG support on your N800? Well your prayers have been answered, theres a small application that will allow you to play your OGG music files from the built in N800 Media Player.
Ok so we already know that KDE runs on the N800, but how does it run? I found a 10 min video on YouTube showing KDE performance on the N800. It looks like it runs quite well, there is a little slow down here and there but overall its quite impressive…
Hey everyone, I’m back from my refreshing backpacking trip through Thailand and will be back bringing you all the latest n800\n810 news and views from tomorrow!
Just letting you know that I’m leaving tomorrow night on a bit of a backpacking holiday around Thailand,so don’t expect much N800 / N810 news unlil I return on the 24th of January. I will have internet access from time to time so I may make a few posts if something major pops up whilst I’m gone.
I’d like to thank everyone who has visited N800Blog.com this year it’s been a pleasure to bring you news and information about the N800 and it’s applications.
I wish you all a happy christmas and an even better new years.
I’ll see you in 2008, fresh and with a renewed focus on all things Internet Tablet.
ThoughtFix from over at TabletBlog has posted his review of the new Internet Tablet OS2008. It’s a huge review packed full of great information and pictures for anyone interested in using the Internet Tablet platform…
The Application manager allows for easy installation, upgrading, and
removal of software. Linux handles software quite differently from PCs
and Macs. Linux users install application from “repositories” on the
web. When “check for updates” is clicked, the Application manager
checks the repositories for all applications for both updates and for
new software sitting in the same repositories. Later in the OS2007
release, they also started including “one click install” which takes a
web shortcut and sets up the repository and application for you.
Personally I agree with ThoughFix, the FREE OS2008 update for the N800 is a must install for all N800 users, it offers what could be the most impressive update ever rolled out to a mobile device. Check out this earlier post for the OS2008 download and installation information.
I’ve been working away on this for the last few hours, but I’ve finally finished the very first version of the N800 Blog RSS Feed. You can subscribe via the little red RSS image on the right hand side of the page, or alternatively by clicking here. It’s pretty basic at the moment and will only give you the latest headlines, eventually I want to be able to flesh it out a little to provide a little more info.
I was checking out YouTube today and found a very interesting video, it seems someone is porting NeoPop a Neo Geo Pocket emulator to the N800 / N810 Internet Tablets. Check out this video…
It running on OS2008 and currently looks to be a tad slowl, but wow what a fantastic application to port over. I’ll see if I can dig up some more information.
