Shadow Warrior N800

Monday, September 15th, 2008

Yes it’s games day here at the N800 Blog! After Duke was ported it’s pretty smart to assume that most games built on that same engine would be ported to the N800 / N810. Shadow Warrior is the next game ported to the Internet Tablets, it’s a classic FPS from Epic Games and one with some real attitude.

Again Ukki a member of Internet Tablet Talk is the genius behild the port, you can find instructions in how to get Shadow Warrior up and running on your Internet Tablet in the forum post.

I’ll be sure to post my impressions of all 3 games later tonight.

This is a very cool peice of news which I found over at the Internet Tablet Talk forums. Bundyo has compiled the MPlayer broswer plug-in for the N800 / N810 browser. He is looking for people to beta test the application and report any bugs / issues that you may find.

How I love the Internet Tablet community :)

N800 Robot Puppy

Monday, September 15th, 2008

Finding gems like this on YouTube really makes me smile. Here’s some general information on the N800 Robot Puppy…

I’ve set up the WiFi on the Nokia N800 to AD-HOC mode. This allows direct communications between the Nokia N770 (which set up as the remote controller) and Nokia N800. However, This demonstration is not controlled by the remote. The Robot (and Nokia N800) is running by itself (using its own sensors as triggers).

You can send text generated voice to the N800 as well. That is, you can make your robot say anything you like :)

Notice how I built the robot head. Its the only thing I had changed so that I could use four double sided adhesive foam squares (25.4mmx25.4mm). All four adhesive squares can hold up to 1lb (450g). It works very well. It saves me from buying a car mount (or drilling holes in the Nokia N800).

Check out this N800 Robot Puppy!
